Think of a decadent baked dessert dripping with caramel sauce,  warm buns freshly baked and straight from the oven, or a delicious hearty stew boasting with flavour and colour. The kind of food where you can smell and taste the meals just by looking at the photos.

These are the blogs I like to follow, the ones that entice you to get busy in the kitchen.

I had a craving for ice-cream the weekend and tried my hand at a no-churn Cherry and bourbon flavour that I found on one of the blogs and boy was it DELICIOUS!  Yes, it is winter in Cape Town, but when you see how dreamy it looked you’ll understand.  I’ll post the details soon and will also try some more recipes to share with you.

In the meantime, I’ve complied a list of some of my favourites to follow but be warned, you WILL be hungry after this!

Salted caramel espresso bars! I took two of my favorite flavors and married them in one delicious brownie-like bar. Think dense, chewy, espresso bars swirled with salted caramel and sprinkled with sea salt. It’s a heavenly combination!!! Grab the recipe on my blog or from the link in bio.☕️ • • twosugarbugs.com/salted-caramel-espresso-bars/ • • • #saltedcaramel #thebakefeed #shareyourtable #tohfoodie #foodblogfeed #inmykitchen #wsbakeclub #bakingblog #imsomartha #letsbake #bakefeed #foodphotography #bakingmama #bakingisfun #bakinglife #bestrecipes #replicasurfaces #surlatable #feedfeed @thefeedfeed #forthemaking #yummygoodness #dessertblogger #cameraeatsfirst #foodtographyschool #bakeandshare #feedfeedbaking

With a husband and two boys, it’s not hard to see why most of her recipes are aimed at preparing wholesome family meals. She also has a few boozy drinks recipes where the only skills you need are holding a shaker and measuring tot sizes (did I hear someone say cocktail hour!?).

I’d want to be stuck at her home during a pandemic!

Sally’s baking addiction

If you are looking for ‘no-fail’ baking recipes then this is the page to head to! Her cookies are delectable and recipes easy to follow with South African measurements and temperatures.

Dessert for Two

If you have a sweet tooth and (like me) but don’t want to bake a whole cake or batch of pancakes, then you should follow this page. All her recipes are easy to follow with serving sizes of one to two people.

@seattlecoffeeco not only whips up a mean double-shot macadamia milk latte ☕️ but their range of vegan deli goodies also hit the spot! Recently @talyagoldberg introduced me to their Mediterranean Veg & Mozzarella Sandwich (R58) with hummus, sundried tomato pesto, mayo, tomato preserve, kalamata olives, baby spinach and @lecoquinfoods mozzarella 🥪🌱 It is super tasty – especially if you place it on a sandwich press until the melted cheese oozes out from the sides 🧀 . Another deli favourite is the @sriracha_fg “chicken”- Mayo wrap (R50)… if you know me, you know I indulge bottles and bottles of Sriracha 🌶🌶. The wrap has a kick but is definitely not too spicy for the average customer – I added an extra a squirt of Sriracha for more kick! The deli snacks are conveniently packed to grab on the go, but you can also enjoy it as a sit-down meal if you have a moment to spare. I haven’t tried the whole range, but both of these were packed with ingredients and well-priced too 💰 I’ve seen so many mouth-watering pictures of the rest of their range and can’t wait to try those too. Thank you @seattlecoffeeco for the vast spread, making it even easier to #eatvegan in South Africa. #vegan #veganfood #veganfriendly #plantbased #plantpower #plantbaseddiet #veganfoodporn #whatveganseat #vegancapetown #vegansouthafrica #veganlunch #yummy #healthy #healthyfood #fitfood #meatfree #dairyfree #crueltyfree #vegangirl #veganblogger

A proudly South African Afrikaans girl leading the vegan lifestyle.  I must admit I have not tried any vegan recipes, mainly because they look (and sound) extremely unappetizing but she has changed my outlook! I think I’ll incorporate some of these into ‘meat-free’ Mondays.

You don’t have to be an advanced cook or baker to follow most of these recipes so give it a try and leave a note in the comments if you have a favourite blog you think I should follow.
